How are you getting home today?

By September 11, 2017My Blog

This train chugged past me as I was running around on the Langa Hockey field. (A place which represents in itself an ongoing triumph because of great adversity)

Silence descended upon me. I stood by the fence and it felt like so much perspective was being washed over me and through me.

No words needed.

I am so grateful to be part of Langa. I have received so much wisdom and valuable life lessons.

I can hear one of my Langa friends saying “what’s the problem, it got you home didn’t it?”

What’s your problem? Is it really a problem? You choose. Your attitude and outlook defines the world around you.

In Langa, we choose to focus on what we have or what we can do rather than keep banging on about what we don’t have or what we wished was possible or could be different. Everything changes when you work this out.

Don’t be a lame victim!

“Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

This pic reminds me of this past Saturday (09 Sept 2017) when Khayelitsha players and myself traveling from Khayelitsha to Langa Astro for our last matches of the league by train. It is a good and bad feeling but the players look beyond the conditions and enjoy every moment of it.

Short and powerful. What a great perspective to have in life. May you continue to learn more in the community you now call home. Keep doing great things my brother.
